There was an announcement today from Caterham telling that Trulli would try the new car only at the last day of the test.
" Caterham F1 Team – T1 Jerez Driver Schedule
Chassis (all days): CT01-#2
Tuesday 7th February: Heikki Kovalainen
Wednesday 8th February: Heikki Kovalainen
Thursday 9th February: Giedo van der Garde
Friday 10th February: Jarno Trulli"
Well it’s not exactly the best option for a race driver if he gets one day of running and that on the very last day. The teams reserve driver, Giedo van de Garde, the teams reserve driver will have a run one day earlier.
All this is could mean two things … The first one is that Petrov has still a chance to show the money. There was a story, and this seems to be the case, that tells that Petrov has still to find 6 mil Euros to get the seat. On the other hand van de Garde is bringing “too much” for a reserve. So why putting him in front of the race driver? Is there maybe an idea “evaluating” van de Garde before giving Trulli his ride? We will find out.
